education honor society adds nine to group on 10th anniversary

Wayland Baptist University’s chapter of the Kappa Delta Pi education honor society inducted nine new members on Sunday in a celebration of 10 years on the campus, including (from left) Sarah Dillon, Sharon Haney, Bekah Windham, Hailey Hill, Rachel Stanfield, Lara Adair, Erin Bailey and Suzi Guenther. Not able to attend the ceremony was inductee Durinda Buchanan.Kappa Delta Pi The initiation ceremony included words of encouragement to future teachers from local CPA Don A. Williams, who noted the importance of the knowledge being gained and the duty and power to train children for the competitive world in which they live – building off the KDP motto of “knowledge, duty, power.” The ceremony included recognition of the May graduating seniors who are student-teaching currently and a reception for members, new inductees, WBU education faculty and others present in celebration of the organization’s ten years of service and scholarship at Wayland. Scheryl Scarborough and Dr. Gene Whitfill serve as sponsors.
