Juniors set joint recital at Wayland

PLAINVIEW – Wayland Baptist University students Andy Roberts and Carlos Saldana will present a joint music recital at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 12, in Wayland’s Harral Memorial Auditorium.

              Roberts, the son of Debbie Roberts of Clarendon, will present several works for clarinet, including Brahm’s First Sonata Op. 120 and Tanze Aus Korond by Laszlo Draskoczy. Saldana, who will perform on the tuba, will present a sonata composed by Bendetto Marcello as well as Paul Holmes’ Lento and Concerto for Bass Tuba by Ralph Vaughan Williams. Saldana is the son of Maria and Alfredo Saldana of Tulia.

              The recital meets part of the degree requirements for Roberts, who is majoring in music education, and Saldana, who is working toward a double major in music education and music performance.

              Admission to the recital is free and open to the public.
