Wayland to host free concert

August 9, 2011

PLAINVIEW – Wayland Baptist University is hosting a free concert on Wednesday, Sept. 7, at 5:30 p.m. in Hutcherson Center as part of the school’s Pride Week celebration. The concert is a stop on the Music With a Mission Tour featuring Christian bands Hawk Nelson, Fireflight, Superchick, MikesChair, Manafest, Hyland, Samestate and Kiros.

The Music With a Mission Tour is joining with Compassion International to make a difference through music. The concert at Wayland will benefit Plainview’s Faith in Sharing House, an organization that donates food to needy families. The concert is free of charge, but Wayland is asking for donations of non-perishable food items to benefit F.I.S.H.

Hyland will also conduct Wayland’s chapel service at 11 a.m. on Wednesday in Harral Memorial Auditorium. The chapel service is open to the public.
