pep program information session set for sept. 18

PLAINVIEW -- Wayland Baptist University officials will be on hand Tuesday Sept. 18 at the Plainview High School auditorium to discuss the Plainview Education Partnership program with interested students and parents. The meeting is scheduled for 6 p.m.

The PEP program works in conjunction with the Plainview Area United Way to provide tuition money for students graduating from Plainview High School, Plainview Christian High School or Plainview
homeschools who are planning to attend Wayland. If participating students meet PEP guidelines, they will receive assistance for their first two semesters at Wayland. To qualify for the PEP program students must enroll as juniors in high school, maintain a 95 percent attendance rate and a B average for their junior and senior years.

At 2012 tuition rates (based on 15 credit hours), the PEP program could translate into a savings of $13,650 for two semesters at Wayland. High School Students are encouraged to enroll, even if they do not plan on attending Wayland. Classes taken the first two semesters are generally basic courses that are required at most colleges and universities.
