Wayland offers writing camp for high school students

PLAINVIEW – The School of Languages and Literature at Wayland Baptist University in Plainview is offering a special, three-day writing workshop to high school students who are interested in improving their writing skills.

The three-day camp, for students ages 14-18, will meet from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. on June 16-18 on the second floor of Gates Hall. Check-in will be held in room 201. The cost is $45 if registered by Monday, June 13, or $50 for those registering after June 13. Lunch is included with the cost of registration.

Students will take part in special sessions, including creative writing, literature, technical writing and film that are designed to help them become better writers, smarter readers and more informed filmgoers. The camp will also provide teens a glimpse of college life, a chance to improve English skills and the opportunity to learn more about a few of their favorite things.
